Coopers Barand Brasserie

Arriving at the place first impression was, its a pub, But this did not put us off. Having been seated at a table (this being four star) with no table cloth and not appealing, we still said we will give it a try. Our young waiter came over to the table and placed an A4 sheet of paper on the table, close look told me that this was our menu of around 6-7 dishes. I then asked is this the only menu. With a prompt answer of yes, now getting hungry and late we still ordered a meal. My wife asked for a steak of which he had to come back and ask how she wanted it cooking, at the same time bringing a basket with two slices of bread and a knob of butter in it. My wife buttered a slice of bread for each of us and then notice that the bread seemed to have mold on it. Asking to see someone about this or the chef, a young girl came out and said sorry for the bread. Asking how old the bread was her reply was well the chef as not touched the bread only me, not what we wanted to hear. At this time we had given them ample chances to redeem themself, and got up to leave only to be told would we like my starter for its nearly ready. Promt answer NO. Would not reccomend this place to anyone whom wants a night out. This spoiled my wife's birthday, of which I wanted to be just right. Not sat at our local Indian of which was a very enjoyable meal, of what we get every time...

What a fantastic find this place is! You've got to try it! Sophisticated beers (tall thin glasses) specialist guest beer things on a blackboard. Ace food - sophisticated bistro type thing. I was really shocked and suprised at finding something so good here! Definitely returning again - and again.
